Board Okays Whitney Simpson for Membership
The Board of Directors has approved Whitney Simpson for membership and this
is the official notification to the membership. Whitney is sponsored by
Tony Thompson and her classification is accounting/consulting. She
currently is a member of the Top of the Week Rotary Club and a former
treasurer of that group.

John Snyder, who was president of Dilworth Rotary Club in 1997-98, has
become president of the

John works at the accounting firm of

development of corporate clients.
The Rotary Club of Charlotte is the 41st-largest of roughly 33,000 clubs and
1.2 million members worldwide. Last year, its members donated $15,000 to
Charlotte-area charities, bringing the total given locally to $1 million
over the nearly 100-year life of the club.
Some Fund Raising By Other Rotary Clubs
Here is some information about what some Clubs in the District are doing
about raising funds and how much.
Gastonia Rotary is raising $12,000.00 for the Sept. 19th Honor Air flight.
That is $75.47 per member. They raise a great deal of money each year for
their water/Habitat project in Honduras.
Cherryville raised about $5,000.00 last Rotary year for Honor Air. That is
$250.00 per member. They got most of the money from the community.
China Grove, with the District Foundation Chair as a member, raised over
$6,000.00 last year for the Polio campaign. That is $352.00 per member.
They got the money from the members and the community. .
News about Members
Andrew Webster, son of Evan Webster, married Nicole Roberts June 20 in
Charlotte. Andrew teaches math at Wilson Middle School and Nicole is a
Special Nee.ds teacher at Crestdale Middle School. They honeymooned in
Ireland an will live in Rock Hill.
