 Committee Changes Handling

Of Barbecue Fund-Raising Tickets

Kay May has e-mailed all the members of our club asking them to let her
know how they want their BarBQ tickets. This way, she can take the
requests by e-mail and not just in person at the meetings. Because we
have 3 different tickets it’s important for Kay to know which ones they
want.

*	BarBQ will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. until
2:30 p.m.
* Serving hours to the public will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
* Ticket for an Office Pack $16.00; One pound BarBQ $9:00; One dinner $8.00
(each ticket will be a separate color).
*	Rotarians will be billed for a minimum of $48.00 in ticket purchases

Kay needs to know which tickets each member wants and how many (just the
minimum or more).

Rotary Power Chair Bob Teague needs additional volunteers to cover all of
the time slots for the BarBQ. As you can see we have several times open.

STAR Meeting to Deal with Club’s Budget

The Rotary STAR Meeting is next Tuesday, March 10, at 7:15 a.m. at Pike’s.
This month, we will talk about our club budget and how it works. If you are
planning to attend please e-mail Brad Goforth (bgoforth at aol.com) by Monday
morning so he can give Pike’s a count. If you know someone, a fellow
Rotarian or a guest, who might be interested in coming to the meeting, feel
free to invite and let Brad know. He’ll make sure there is plenty to eat!

Flight of Honor Veteran Applications Reach 111

World War II veteran applications for the April 18 flightnow total 111 with
only 120 seats available for the veterans. If you are talking with any
veterans about going on the Flight, let them know that we may have to start
a waiting list because there may be illnesses and other reasons for
cancellations. Anyone who wants to go and hasn’t applied needs to do so
quickly. The steering committee would appreciate it if anyone who wants to
help with financial support of the Flight would contribute soon. Bills for
the charter flight, buses, etc. have to be paid in advance and are beginning
to fall due. If you make the contribution to Dilworth Charities and note on
the memo line that it is for the Flight of Honor, the contribution will be
tax deductible under the federal tax code.
