Contributions for “Feed the Homeless”
Total $1,250; About $800 More Needed
The Club has adopted a new aspect to its annual fund-raising barbecue and has exceeded the halfway point of its goal of about $2,000 to provide barbecue lunch for 400 homeless persons.  $1,250 has been raised so far.
Our annual BBQ Fundraiser will be next Friday, April 3rd from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  Ticket Chair Kay May said, “To all who have placed their orders and picked up their tickets THANK YOU!  To those who have not yet placed their order and picked up tickets, please email Kay May at kay.d.may at bankofamerica.com and let me know how many tickets you want and which ticket (Office Pack, Pound or Plate) and what time you will pick up your barbecue on April 3rd.”
Each Rotarian will be billed for a minimum of $48 worth of tickets.  Tickets will be available for pick up this Friday March 27.  To help make this year’s ticket sales work smoothly,  Please email Kay or let her know in advance which tickets you want and how many.  Your choices of tickets are:

Ticket for one Office Pack $16.00; - Please specify what time you will pick up
Ticket for One lb. BBQ $9:00;   take out only – indicate time to pick up
Ticket for One dinner $8.00 – please specify eat in or take out.
You can purchase any combination of tickets and of course as many as you like, more is always appreciated.   For example, you can purchase
·            3 office packs for $48.
·            6 individual meals for $48
·            2 office packs and 2 dinners for $48
·            Or for $54 you can purchase 6 (one pound container) of barbecue
Also, if you want to purchase office packs in bulk, just let Kay know how many you plan to feed and the Club will bill you for the amount needed.  For example if you plan to feed your office of 30 persons, that would be the equivalent of 10 office packs for $160.  But we would package this in bulk instead of 10 separate office packs.

Drawings Held For Paul Harris Clubs
At our March 13 meeting, one name was drawn from each of our three Paul Harris Clubs to make those persons Paul Harris Fellows.   The new Paul Harris Fellows are: Club #1 - Tom Philson; Club #2 - Kay May; Club #3 - Lee Wensil

Clubs #1 and #2 were formed in 2002, and Club #3 was formed in 2005.  These "clubs" were created to enable members to become Paul Harris Fellows faster and promote the Rotary International Foundation.  Drawings have been held each spring and $3,000 is sent to the Rotary Foundation in the names of the winners. Each member of each club has agreed to contribute $100 annually to the Rotary Foundation (which is very similar to EREY - "Every Rotarian Every Year" - giving $100 to the Rotary Foundation).  With the creation of EREY, and with most of our members contributing $100 annually via EREY or through the Paul Harris Clubs, the need for the clubs has been replaced by EREY.

Clubs #1 and #2 will successfully complete their mission next year.  When Club #3 phases out in 2013, the 3 clubs will have raised $30,000 for the Rotary Foundation!   Thanks to ALL of the following who have made this program such a great success for the Rotary Foundation:

(Some members were replaced from time to time upon relocation, death, etc.)

Club #1

George Alexander, Rosemary Hill, David Hodgkins, Jim Hunter, Ed King, Dave Miller, Joe Morris, Bob Morrison, Tom Philson, Jim Stump, and Bob Teague

Club #2

John Barringer, Glenn Hines, James M. "Jim" Hunter, Dewey Jenkins, Frank Kiker, Van Vagianos, Marti McCracken, Harding Shinn, Richard Pockat, Doug Phillips, Ed Todd, and Kay May

Club #3

Tony Thompson, Bob Mills, Chuck Lapp, Lee Wensil, Ranjit Rawley, Bob Lyons
Ron Skufca, Bob Small, and Evan Webster

And, thanks to ALL Dilworth South End Rotarians who support EREY - "Every Rotarian Every Year" - with their $100 contributions.  ALL EREY contributions go towards your initial or multiple Paul Harris Fellow creation.  Most members have $25.00 per quarter added to their regular bills (only 27 cents per day). If you haven't already signed up for EREY and would like to do so, please see or call Jim Stump or Dewey Jenkins.
