Dilworth, South End Restaurants Join Forces
To Raise Money for Dilworth Charities
Five Dilworth and South End area restaurants have joined forces with Dilworth South End Rotary Club to raise money for the club’s Dilworth Charities which funds Charlotte and international projects.
The restaurants have committed to share a portion of their proceeds from restaurant receipts Wednesday, Nov. 4. In exchange, our Club is urging its members, other Rotarians, family and friends to eat at one of the restaurants on Nov. 4. The restaurants are: 300 East at 300 East Boulevard, Brixx at 1801 Scott Avenue, Dilworth Neighborhood Grille at 911 East Morehead St., Greek Isles Restaurant at 200 Bland St., and La Paz Restaurant at 1910 South Boulevard. Sullivan's Steakhouse and Outback in Dilworth have helped in other ways.
Kate Richards, chair of the club’s fund-raising committee, said, “We hope all our members and other Rotarians will eat at one of these restaurants on Nov. 4 and let the restaurant management know they are there to support our club’s Dilworth Charities. We want this to be beneficial to the restaurants and our charities.” The club’s Dilworth Charities is a 501 (c) (3) organization under IRS regulations and donations are tax deductible under the federal tax code..
You can help the cause by e-mailing all of your friends and asking them to eat at one of the restaurants. Also ask them to let management know that they are there to support our club’s fund raising. If you send the same e-mail to multiple addressees, put them in the BCC line. Otherwise many anti-spam programs will block e-mails with multiple addressees.

Follow-Up to Program on USO
Some members asked after the USO program how to donate to the USO. President John Falkenbury of the USO of North Carolina, responded by asking your editor to give the web site locations for the information.
Information on donating to the USO of North Carolina is at www.uso-nc.org/supportus.html. You can help the USO of North Carolina and yourself by buying an h-Card (usoofnc.schoolheart.com/). The card costs $25 a year and $12.50 goes to the USO of North Carolina. It is good for discounts at Avis, Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Hawthorne Suites, AAMCO, and many other businesses.
He said that the troops overseas who are served by USO Arlington also need help. A check only to USO Arlington goes to support troops outside North Carolina.
The Dilworthian Needs Backup Editor
Lamar Gunter will undergo knee replacement surgery Dec. 2 and will not be able to produce The Dilworthian that week and perhaps the next week. We need a volunteer to take over The Dilworthian at least for that week and possibly two or more, depending on the speed of recovery.
Area Is South End, Not Southend
The area in which our Rotary Club meets is South End, not Southend. Our club is the Charlotte South End Rotary Club. Let’s try to be accurate when we refer to our club and the area in which we meet.
Rotary District 3110 Uttar Pradesh in India
Announces Taj Hosting & Fellowship Society
District 3110 Uttar Pradesh, India with some prominent Rotarians of Agra have made a
Taj Hosting & Fellowship Society (THFSA) to host the International Rotarians, individuals or group for one or two days in the historical city of Agra, the first wonder of the world, “TAJ MAHAL”.
If Rotarians and their friends visit India to any district as Group Study Exchange Team, PULSE POLIO TEAM, international partner in any matching grant project or for any other purpose and want to see the "TAJ MAHAL" and nearby places, the Rotarians of Agra will be happy to host and assist them .
In years 2001 to 2008 THFSA hosted many Rotarians who came from different parts of the world/districts on Polio NID’s, Friendship Exchange & on general pleasure trip. They all were hosted by Rotarians of Agra who have made this Taj Hosting & Fellowship Society and provided them the home hospitality and showed them historical monuments along with the first Wonder of the World, “Taj Mahal.”
Sunil Kumar, joint secretary of THFSA, “It has been always a good and new experience for us. For live experience visit our website: - www.tajhostingagra.com <http://www.tajhostingagra.com/> . If the Rotarians of your club and neighbors clubs or your friends want to participate for this noble cause on Polio National Immunization Day, our society will love to host all of them and can assist them in their further pleasure trip.
“Or if an individual or group of friends wants to celebrate New Year or other festival in a big way among a gathering of 2,500 people and more and see the other part of India apart from Agra, they are also welcomed by THFSA If you accept our society invitation please inform us accordingly and be a partner in promoting Friendship and Goodwill of Rotary.
