Dilworth July Attendance Ranks in Bottom Third of Mecklenburg County Clubs

Charlotte South and Mecklenburg South Rotary Clubs achieved 100 % attendance
in July to lead all 14 Mecklenburg clubs.

Charlotte Dilworth South End ranked in the bottom third with its 67%. With
all the convenient ways to make up – 13 clubs in Mecklenburg County and

difficult to make up.

Charlotte SouthPark’s 89% and Ballantyne’s 84% ranked third and fourth.

Mecklenburg County Joint Rotary Luncheon

To Feature Morgan Stanley Exec as Speaker

Jim Brinkley, Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Private
Client Group, will be the guest speaker at the joint luncheon of Mecklenburg
County Rotary Clubs Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Blake Hotel.

Dilworth members are encouraged to attend and should make their reservations
by contacting Kay May. Our club will hold its regular meeting Oct. 2 that
week.

After serving as a captain in the Airborne Ranger Infantry, Jim embarked on
a 43-year career with Legg Mason Wood Walker, ending his career there as
Chairman and CEO. He joined Smith Barney in 2005, following Citigroup’s
acquisition of Legg Mason. He is a perpetual student of American business,
and will be sharing his knowledge and insights into the why America works,
and how we got to where we are today.

Dilworthians Record Only 221 Hours Of Service

The headline says record only 221 hours because members undoubtedly have
given more service than that since the new Rotary year began July 1. We are
just forgetting to record our service. Let’s all try to be more vigilant
about recording our service hours.
