Rotary District 7680 Flight of Honor Steering Committee is asking Charlotte
area Rotarians to be at Concourse D exit on the ticketing level of Charlotte
Douglas International Airport April 18 between 8 and 8:30 p.m. to welcome home
the World War II veterans. Please wear your Rotary shirts and hats if you have
them.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'>The charter flight for the 120
veterans is expected to arrive between 8 and 8:30 p.m. In addition to the
veterans, persons on the flight will include District Governor Bob Wilson, 40
guardians who each have accompanied three veterans during the day, sponsors,
film makers, and members of the media.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'>The 40 guardians were needed
because many of the veterans use wheelchairs, walkers and canes. Experience in
previous flights sponsored by HonorAir shows the need for one guardian for
every three veterans. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'>Because this flight could only
accommodate 120 veterans, there already is a waiting list of more than 20
veterans who could not go on this flight. The steering committee hopes it will
be able to organize at least one more flight. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'>Past District Governor Mitzi Ellis
