Dilworth South End Rotary welcomed William McDonald and Jeffrey Morgart into

is Executive Director of Bethlehem Center and his sponsors are Kay May and
Dale Harrold. He is a native of southern Arkansas and a graduate of the
University of Arkansas at Monticello. His entire career since college has
been with non profits in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and now North Carolina.
He came to Charlotte in 2001 and was appointed to his present position in
2006. He is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Last week was my proudest
as a Rotarian. In the midst of an economic recession unlike any that we have
seen since the great depression. With a Tsunami of bad news.. Bankruptcies
and the potential loss of such Iconic companies as Chrysler, GM and Wachovia.
With bad news from every corner and unemployment rates in the double digits. Housing
prices down 50 % in some parts of the country. The Charlotte Dilworth South
End Rotary club created a Tsunami of a different kind. A Tsunami of good
news. A Tsunami that will help provide clean water to those who lack it;
housing for those without it; free some from the scourge of polio; and
provide skills to some other to help feed their families. Rest assured the
money raised will be put to good use. To those 14 new Paul Harris Fellows and
four new benefactors and your Rotary sponsors, I thank you and salute you. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>I also salute the Club and
those that have paved the way and created the "Rotary Spirit" that
pervades the club. This same spirit has created almost $325,000 in donations
over our history for the Rotary Foundation. Jim Stump ,Chair of the
Foundation Committee, told me that he did not recollect a time when we had
created more Paul Harris Fellows and benefactors at one sitting.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

project of preparing Samaritan House for occupancy, and on the Steering
Committee for Rotary District 7680’s Flight of Honor. He organized the
